Magic window: Monarch Butterflies (Oct – Feb)

Pacific Grove (20 minutes north of Carmel) hosts tens of thousands of overwintering monarch butterflies in a eucalyptus grove — peak late October through November. Entry to the sanctuary is free. Pair with Point Lobos (nearby) and use Pacific Grove as a northern base for the corridor.
